Draft Public Statement Regarding Proceeds from Land Sale

The members of the Henry Hudson Regional School District Board of Education take their obligations as stewards of District financial and other resources very seriously. To that end, in anticipation of the Board’s receipt of proceeds from the sale of property to Monmouth County Parks, the Board has created ad hoc committees, made up of citizens, parents, and teachers, to consider its current and future needs and expenses. Specifically, the Board will carefully review needs of educational and extra-curricular programs and capital projects, in order to determine ways in which the proceeds from the sale can be used to benefit current and future students and community stakeholders. In an effort to ensure that all of the concerns and suggestions of our students, faculty, and taxpayers are considered during this process, the Board welcomes and encourages community input regarding the allocation of the anticipated funds. The Board of Education plans to make a public presentation regarding its anticipated use of the funds from the sale of the property at a future date.
